Marie is an Auckland-based visual artist and photographer working between New Zealand and Australia. Of Māori heritage and raised on a rural farm, her practice is informed by a deep connection to land, identity, and human connection.

Working across painting, photography and short form video, she explores atmosphere, movement, and the subtle tension between physical and emotional space. Alongside her studio practice, she documents process and environment through both still and moving image.

With a professional background in television and film makeup artistry - including work for Māori Television, Prime/Sky, and London’s ITV - Marie brings a refined understanding of the human face and themes of transformation. This experience continues to influence her approach to identity, perception, and ritual within her work.
